The Vintage Chorus

The Vintage Chorus is Capital Theatres’ choir, founded in 2015 for older people “with time on their hands and a song in their heart”. Led by singer and cellist Wendy Weatherby and pianist Duncan Black, the group sings all sorts of music and everyone’s welcome. The focus is on singing together in a relaxed atmosphere, in the lovely surroundings of the Festival Theatre. You don’t need to be able to read music to join. The Vintage Chorus gives performances from time to time, in settings ranging from the Festival Theatre, to the New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Edinburgh’s largest restaurant and bar!

The Vintage Chorus meets for three terms of 10 weeks every year. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays from 10.00am to 12.00 noon. The autumn term begins on 16th October with bookings opening on 3rd September. Please book directly through box office on 0131 529 6000.

Curious? Want to know more? Prospective new members are very welcome to come along to the first rehearsal of term as a free “taster” session. Please call Cat in advance on 0131 622 8427 or email catrin.sheridan@capitaltheatres.com to let us know you’d like to come along.

Every single place in the Vintage Chorus is subsidised by Capital Theatres. The cost to participants in £40 per person, per term.
