Access ticket bookers
If you already take advantage of 50% off discounts for access tickets, we are pleased to offer a discounted Friend membership. You can enjoy all the benefits excluding the 2-for-1 ticket offer or 20% ticket discount on standard tickets.
To join as a Friend for £25, please first complete our Access Form – if you have already registered this information, you won’t need to do this again.
Then contact our Box Office by telephone (0131 529 6000) from Mon to Sat, 11am to 3pm or visit the box office counter in the Festival Theatre, open Mon to Sat, 10am-4pm.

Age 26-35
Anyone aged 25 & Under can sign up for £10 tickets on the day for most performances. When you turn 26, you can keep the savings going with a discounted Friend membership. This membership can be purchased right up until the day you turn 36.
To set this up, you first need to make sure you have an account with us – you can either log in or create an account.
Then contact our Box Office by emailing bookings@capitaltheatres.com, calling 0131 529 6000 (Mon to Sat, 11am to 3pm) or visit the Box Office counter in the Festival Theatre (Mon to Sat, 10am-4pm).
If you haven’t already verified your age with us for the 25 & Under ticket offer, you’ll need to provide proof of age to our Box Office.
When you join, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to your digital membership card. If you would like a physical card please get in touch using the contact details provided in your confirmation email.
Tickets
Friends discount is valid on up to two Standard Tickets per production. If a Friends discount is available for your selected performance, it will automatically apply to your basket, when you are signed in, so you never miss out on your savings. If you are booking over the phone or in-person, just let our box office team know that you have a membership. To apply the discount, tickets must be booked under the membership account.
Café and Bars
To receive 20% off at our café and bars, all you need to do is show your Friends membership card when making your order. The discount cannot be applied to merchandise, programmes, ice creams or sweets.
Partnering restaurants
To receive discount at our partnering restaurants, please show them your Friend card before placing your order. Discounts and offers can vary between restaurants.
We are pleased to offer Friend restaurant discounts with local businesses. To claim your discount, please show your Friend card before ordering. To visit the restaurant’s website, tap or click on their name.

Each month you will receive our Friends e-newsletter outlining any new shows with priority booking periods and discounts.
If a show isn’t announced in time for our monthly email, you’ll receive a bespoke email so you don’t miss out. We’ve got you covered! When a show has priority booking, all you need to do is log in to your account with a Friends membership, go to the show page and start booking your tickets.
Yes, your Capital Theatres Friends benefits apply to all three of our venues, the Festival Theatre, Studio Theatre and King’s Theatre. The King’s Theatre is currently closed for a major re-development and will re-open in 2026.

- Friends discounts are only available on specified shows with a maximum of 2 discounted tickets per show per membership. This benefit does not apply to discount Friend membership for access ticket bookers.
- 2 for 1 discounts are only available on selected performances. This benefit does not apply to discount Friend membership for access ticket bookers.
- Discounts and offers apply to full-price tickets only with only one discount per ticket.
- Discounts may vary from show to show and may be capped or time limited. Details are provided on the show pages of our brochures and our website.
- Any Friend making a group booking will be entitled to use their Friends discount as part of a group of 8+ people (11+ for Pantomime).
- Friends must reserve, book and pay for bookings under their own membership account.
- Each Friends card entitles the bearer to a 20% discount* in our venue bars. Please show your card at the time of purchase. *up to a maximum discount value of £4
- Friends discounts do not apply to merchandise, programmes, ice creams or sweets.
- A Friend may exchange tickets up to 48 hours before a performance to another performance or to another show. There is no handling fee, however any difference in ticket price must be paid.
- As with all our tickets, no refunds will be given to Friends except in the event of cancellation of a performance. Handling charges and booking fees are non-refundable.
- It is your responsibility to check upon receipt of your tickets, that you have tickets for the correct production, date and time with the correct discounts.
- The King’s Theatre is currently closed for a major re-development and will re-open in 2026. Shows for the opening season at the King’s are now on sale and your Friend benefits apply there and at the Festival and Studio Theatres. Follow the Progress at the King’s Theatre.
