From Princes Street
The Festival Theatre is loctated on Nicolson Street, which is the continuation of North Bridge heading south from the east end of Princes Street (the Balmoral Hotel is on the corner of Princes Street and North Bridge).
The theatre is on the right hand side of the road; approximately 10 minutes walk from the east end of Princes Street.
The Festival Theatre is accessible by many different bus routes across the city, find the route that best suits you with Lothian Buses helpful Journey Planner.
By car
Situated on a Nicolson Street, a very busy road, cars and taxis can briefly drop off at the main entrance however we advise against this if possible. There is limited street parking around the Festival Theatre, however is a small 24/7 car park located is located on Nicolson Square, a short 5 minute walk from the theatre.
NCP’s Holyrood Road car park is just a 9-minute walk from the theatre entrance, is open 24 hours, and has over 300 bays (including disabled bays). Please note the parking cannot be pre-booked.
By bike
If you wish to cycle, there are bike racks in front of the theatre on Nicolson Street as well round the side of the theatre in the Stage Door courtyard. You can plan your cycle route using one of the different interactive route planner tools available on the Edinburgh Council’s website.
The nearest train station to the Festival Theatre is Waverley Station, located on Princes Street in the city centre. Approximately 10 to 15 minutes walk from the theatre.
