Featuring Burns’s timeless songs and poetry, 'A Toast Fae the Lassies' invites you to experience the first Burns Night like never before.
Following on from its sell-out success at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, this dynamic musical play explores the life of Robert Burns through the perspectives of the three women who knew him best – his mother, his wife and his muse.
It’s 25th January 1797. Rabbie Burns has recently died. On his birthday his mother comes to the graveyard in Dumfries to remember her son. She is unexpectedly interrupted by Burns’ widow Jean Armour, the mother to nine of his children. The two women have history, and sparks fly. Unbeknownst to them, a mysterious figure watches from the shadows – Clarinda, Burns’ muse and soulmate.
"A show that could seduce audiences till a' the seas gang dry"The Herald
