Go behind the scenes of the King’s redevelopment project with Grant Stott

The redevelopment of the King’s Theatre is approaching an important milestone, as the project is almost 50% complete.

We’ve released a new film to mark this important moment, in which actor and broadcaster Grant Stott leads a walking tour of the theatre, giving an exclusive look at the progress of the exciting renovation.

You can follow the King’s pantomime veteran as he walks through the theatre to get a glimpse of the building as it’s never been seen before. With the redevelopment almost at the halfway point, and the end of the demolition work in sight, the King’s is one step closer to becoming an accessible, modern venue for the first time in the building’s history.

Fiona Gibson, Chief Executive of Capital Theatres said:

“It is incredibly exciting to be almost at the halfway point of the King’s Theatre redevelopment project. This is a particularly significant moment because the end of the demolition work is in sight, and the new features of the theatre are taking shape. As one of our beloved panto stars, there really was no one better than Grant Stott to feature in our new film and walk our audiences through the dramatic progress taking place throughout the theatre.

“We are privileged to be the current custodians of the King’s Theatre and remain immensely grateful for the support of our funders, partners and audience members as we preserve this magnificent heritage building for the next generation.”
