Led by War Horse puppetry alumnus, Lucas Button, this workshop is designed to offer young people a hands-on understanding of how to create characters through puppetry and physicality.
Suitable for ages 10+, the workshop will give your students a taste of the process through which Joey and the other horses of the show are brought to life, recreated through the creation and animation of 3D paper puppets. Participants will work first independently and then in small groups, learning the techniques of how puppeteers respond to both each other and the action around them to conjure the living breathing animals at the heart of War Horse.
There will also be a short Q&A at the end of the workshop for participants to ask any burning questions about the show or about puppetry more generally!
Max capacity 25 children – if your class size exceeds this number, please just get in touch as we may be able to be flexible
We are able to offer a limited number of these workshops on a first-come-first-served basis, at times to be mutually agreed. Email engage@capitaltheatres.com to make an enquiry today.
