Agrupación Señor Serrano
Birdie
Following their critically acclaimed performance of A House in Asia at MANIPULATE 2017, Spanish masters of micro-cinema Señor Serrano return to the Festival with a blistering new multimedia performance.
The work centres around two contrasting mirages. In one: wars, abuse of natural resources, labour exploitation, political instability, poor sanitary conditions, persecution, forced deportation…
In the other: freedom, respect for human rights, good health services, welfare, recycling and renewable energies, prosperity, social mobility…
And in between, a flock migrating birds constantly drawing impossible shapes in the sky.
Birdie is a multimedia performance with live video projections and scale models. Described as Hitchcock’s The Birds revisited, the three performers will take you on a journey of war, smugglers and a massive migration with wit, criticism and commitment to humankind.
Agrupación Señor Serrano is a theatre company based in Barcelona that creates original productions about discordant aspects of today’s human experience. Señor Serrano’s shows blend live feed video, scale models, text, performance, sound and objects.
