Explore Our Heritage Activities
Discover the wide range of activities offered by the King’s Theatre Heritage Engagement Team. Whether you’re a long-time theatre lover or just beginning to explore our rich history, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Most of our activities are designed to connect with upcoming content on The People’s Archive online, offering fresh ways to engage with the stories, people, and productions that have shaped our theatres over time.
Heritage Coffee Mornings
Step back in time with us at our Heritage Coffee Mornings, a welcoming and informal opportunity to explore the rich history of the King’s Theatre through rare archival treasures. Each session is themed, offering a fresh selection of fascinating materials that bring the past to life. Whether you’re a long-time theatre lover or simply curious, you’re encouraged to browse, ask questions, and share your own stories and memories of both the King’s and Edinburgh.
You’ll discover something new every month, all over a complimentary cup of tea or coffee in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Heritage Talks
Step into the world of theatre history with our engaging evening Heritage Talks. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to hear directly from individuals who not only bring expert knowledge, but also have first-hand experience of shaping theatre history in Edinburgh and beyond.
While the talks follow a lecture-style format, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of room for spontaneous stories, surprising anecdotes, and meaningful exchange.
Admission is free, but booking is essential to help us ensure you have the best possible experience.
