At Capital Theatres, we take great joy in sharing the magic of the season with as many people as we can.
We know a lot of people in care homes are not able to visit a theatre anymore, so we will be bringing a specially devised and produced show to 18 care homes and day centres throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. The tour starts on 4 December and will culminate at the Festival Theatre with two special performances for people living with dementia who regularly participate in our workshops and activities on 19 December.
"Every time you come we love it and I mean that."Care Home staff members, from previous Care Home tour
"I enjoyed looking at the residents faces as they sang along and laughed at the jokes."Care Home staff member, from previous Care Home tour
The Christmas Box is a live, interactive, and highly sensory theatre experience for people living with dementia, care home residents and care staff. It is a production created and performed by Michelle Burke and James Ross, two highly skilled artists and musicians who both regularly work in care settings supporting people with dementia artistically. A playful, interactive performance, this show is sure to bring yuletide cheer.
