As Rambert celebrates its centenary in 2026, join Daniel Albon, Head of Archive at Rambert, for a fascinating journey through 100 years of dance innovation, creativity and reinvention.
Drawing on extraordinary material from the Rambert Archive, this illustrated talk explores the company’s remarkable relationship with Edinburgh, from its first appearance at the King’s Theatre in 1929 to major premieres at the Festival Theatre today.
Discover how the vision of founder Marie Rambert transformed British dance, nurtured generations of pioneering choreographers and established a culture of artistic risk-taking that continues to shape the company.
Featuring rare film, photographs, posters, programmes and newly uncovered stories from the Centenary Oral History Project, the presentation reveals how Edinburgh has played a vital role in Rambert’s history and why, after 100 years, the company remains one of the world’s most innovative dance companies.
