Theatre Insights: Holiday Club

Thinking about a future in theatre?
Curious about how the industry really works?

Theatre Insights: Holiday Club is a four-day course designed for young creatives who want to understand both the craft of making theatre and the careers that bring productions to life.

If you’re interested in the performing arts, this is a chance to build skills, meet industry professionals and develop confidence, on and off the stage.

Across the four days, you’ll experience many of the things you might find on a work experience week, but with a creative twist. Instead of observing, you’ll learn by making, with plenty of opportunities to try new things, collaborate and have fun along the way.

Expect backstage tours, practical workshops and real insights into theatre-making with Scotland’s largest theatre charity.

How the Week is Structured

Mornings: Learn the Industry 🎭

Work with theatre professionals in practical, hands-on workshops exploring different departments.

Find out how productions are created, who makes them happen, and what skills the industry values – from performance and directing to design, production, business and more.

Afternoons: Make the Work ✨

Put your ideas into action as you work in small groups to create original short performances with a professional artist.

Choose a role that suits your interests – performer, director, lighting designer, stage manager or something new – and bring your ideas to life together.

At the end of the course, you’ll share what you’ve created with family and friends in an informal showcase.

After booking, you’ll receive a participant form so we can get to know attendees and create the best possible experience. A detailed schedule will be shared two weeks before the course begins.
