Join us for our themed Heritage Coffee Mornings, an informal chance to handle original archival materials from the King’s Theatre, enjoy complimentary tea or coffee, and share personal memories and stories of Edinburgh’s rich cultural past.
Celebrate the milestones that helped shape the King’s Theatre into the institution it is today.
From legendary debuts to groundbreaking productions, we’ll revisit some of the theatre’s most exciting “firsts.” Highlights include the premiere of Noël Coward’s Private Lives starring Laurence Olivier, The King’s pivotal role in launching the Edinburgh International Festival in 1947, and the origins of our first-ever production: the 1906 Cinderella pantomime, revived more than 20 times since. And for a bit of fun, discover which Britain’s Got Talent judge got their start on our stage back in 1993.
