Join us for our themed Heritage Coffee Mornings, an informal chance to handle original archival materials from the King’s Theatre, enjoy complimentary tea or coffee, and share personal memories and stories of Edinburgh’s rich cultural past.
Join us as we delve into the extraordinary life of A.S. Cruikshank, the man who transformed the King’s into Edinburgh’s People’s Theatre. Originally trained as a builder, Cruikshank revolutionised Scottish theatre, bringing variety shows to the masses. We’ll explore artist contracts from the 1940s and 50s that showcase his remarkable talent-spotting skills, personal letters from 1947, and rare photographs of him on stage and in programmes.
