Edinburgh International Children's Festival returns to the Studio Theatre this May/June!

This year the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival celebrates its 35th year with an exciting line up of performances, running from 24 May – 1 June in venues around Edinburgh.

The Festival presents some of the world’s best theatre and dance for young people and their families, with performances that are deeply engaging, innovative and inspiring. This year’s festival features 13 productions from 7 countries, including two new exciting Scottish commissions. Audiences can expect a jam-packed of circus, dance, puppetry and theatre full of moments of joy and surprises to savour together.

The Show for Young Men (P4-S2) (8-14 yrs) – Scotland

Thu 29 May - Sun 1 Jun

A funny and moving dance performance about friendship. Robbie (45) is here to work. Alfie (11) is here to have fun. They meet on a building site at dawn. Using playground games, risk-taking and mischief, they dance and play together, discovering that there are many ways to be brave and kind.

Shades of Shadows (P1-P6) (4-10 yrs) – Germany/France

Sun 25 - Wed 28 May

A humorous show of shadow and light with two pupeteers creating an unruly world where objects and their shadows come to life in a magical interplay of movement and illusion.
