The Training Diaries: Sam and Hamish

This month, we're celebrating members of our team who are participating in the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for the King's Campaign.

I’m Sammy G and I’m Marketing Account Manager at Capital Theatres – the best part of my job is running the marketing campaign for the Panto, the best show in the world, at the best theatre in the world, the King’s! This May I will be running something different – the Edinburgh Marathon! Even better, my amazing son Hamish (age 5) will run the Kid’s Kilometre! We are both so excited.

Hamish loves the King’s and he loves the Panto. He especially loved Grant’s Baron Von Winklebottom costume in Goldilocks. Remember that one?

I remember at Aliens Love Underpants he spent the second half running up and down the aisles – I guess he was practicing his running even then!

It’s been great training alongside all my fabulous colleagues. We’re like a big crazy family and we have a lot of banter on our Running WhatsApp group!

When I told Hamish about the Marathon, his first question to me is, “Are you going to win it?”

Well Hamish, the answer is yes. Yes I am.

Read on for an EXCLUSIVE interview with Sam and Hamish!
