Over the past 50 years, Richard Alston has played a major role in the world of contemporary dance, developing a unique and distinct dance language and shaping the art form in this country.
His internationally renowned Richard Alston Dance Company will officially close in 2020.
This means that this visit is our last chance to say thank you to our Edinburgh audience - some of our most loyal and lively supporters. To Edinburgh we bring the world premiere performance of Martin Lawrance's newest creation A Far Cry set to the impassioned Introduction and Allegro of Edward Elgar and the British premiere of Voices and Light Footsteps set to the vocal music of Claudio Monteverdi. We will also give the revival of Mazur, a duet for two men to evocative pieces by Chopin and bring back last year's hugely popular Brahms Hungarian, both pieces featuring live solo pianist Jason Ridgway.
