Lauder Dementia-Friendly

Jamie MacDougall stars in the story of Sir Harry Lauder, the Portobello boy who became a global superstar, the highest paid and most popular entertainer of his time.

This rags to riches story is packed with all of Lauder’s hit songs, including I Love A Lassie and Roamin’ in the Gloamin’.

An exploration into the public and private personas of the legendary Scottish entertainer Sir Harry Lauder, this new production of the musical play is adapted by director Kally Lloyd-Jones and tenor and broadcaster Jamie MacDougall from the original script by Jimmy Logan.

Jimmy Logan wrote and starred in Lauder, which debuted in 1976 and toured around the world to great acclaim before being televised.

To make you feel welcome, relaxed and well-supported, we’ll have lots of trained staff on hand to help with any access needs, anyone can feel free to make noise and move around the auditorium, we’ll keep the lights on, but dimmed to reduce anxiety, and we’ll provide break  out spaces with a live stream of the show so that if people  feel the need to leave the auditorium they won’t miss the action.

Capital Theatres aim to be accessible to all. We are committed to making your visit to our theatres as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. All of our Front of House staff undergo disability awareness training and Dementia Friend Training and will be pleased to assist you should you require any information or help.
