CBeebies Presents: Hansel & Gretel
This year's CBeebies Christmas Show is Hansel and Gretel and it will be recorded right here at the Festival Theatre. As ever, the show will feature many of CBeebies' most popular actors and presenters.
The show will be available on CBeebies and on BBC iPlayer from the 7th December. There will also be an opportunity to see the show before the 7th December for a short run in cinemas nationwide from the 30th November, these screenings include additional exclusive content. Please note there are two tickets releases. Half of the tickets (for both Saturday and Sunday) go on general sale at 10am on Thursday 19th September. The other half go on sale at 10am on Thursday 26th September, same price.

Apart from the theatre, how can we watch the Christmas Show?
The show will be available on CBeebies and on BBC iplayer from December 7. The show will also appear for a short run in cinemas nationwide on Nov 30/Dec 1, these screenings include additional exclusive content.
How much are you charging for the theatre tickets?
Theatre Tickets are £15 per adult, £10 per child, 24months and under on knees go free (**but must hold a Babes in Arms ticket). There is no additional booking fee for customers.
On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October there will be two performances per day (1pm & 4.30pm) and these tickets will be charged for.
**Babes in Arms tickets are limited and cannot be booked online, please contact Box office (phone or in person) to book them.
Can parents bring in under 2s to sit on laps for free?
The performance is suitable for children aged 3 upwards. But 24 months (babes in arms) and under are welcome to attend and ‘go free on knees’. There are limited numbers of ‘babes in arms’ tickets per performance due to safety restrictions. Please note Babes in Arms are limited and cannot be booked online, please contact Box office in person or by phone on 0131 529 6000 to book them.
How do people get theatre tickets?

You can purchase tickets online, in person (either at the Festival or King's Theatres) or over the phone (0131 529 6000).
How do people get theatre tickets online?
This show page will give you some general information about the show (dates, times, prices and access information). When the first release of tickets sells out, the ‘Buy Tickets’ button will be removed from the page and will reappear on Thursday 26th September from 9am.
When you click the ‘Buy Tickets’ button, you will automatically be placed in a queue from 10am (on sale time). We expect the queue to be very busy on the day, so please be patient. When your turn arrives, you will be able to choose the number of tickets (maximum 6 per booking) and location of seats and type of tickets you wish to purchase. After reviewing your Basket, you will be asked to either log into your account with us or create a new account. Once you have signed up or logged in, you will be able to complete your purchase.
We would recommend creating an account with Capital Theatres before tickets go on sale, so all you have to do on the day is log in. Please note Babes in Arms (24 months and under) tickets cannot be booked online, please contact Box Office in person or over the phone on 0131 529 6000.
How many can one person purchase?
There is a limit of 6 tickets per booking on all booking platforms.
Will more tickets become available?
More theatre tickets may become available closer to the event, once stage plans become closer to being finalised.
Is the show a sell-out?
This will be confirmed at a later date.
How long is the theatre show?
The running time of the performance is 45 minutes; we anticipate the audience will be in the theatre for around an hour and a half.

Are all performances filmed for TV?
The four performances on Saturday and Sunday will be filmed.
Will there be free events on offer outside the theatre as in previous years?
There are no plans for free events outside the Festival Theatre
Are there any seats for those with a disability who require a wheelchair or those who are deaf or partially sighted?
Yes. The theatre is fully compliant to cater for people who use a wheelchair and numbers of wheelchair-accessible seating tickets are available. Please call the box office on 0131 529 6000 to book these tickets (these tickets are not available online). Assistance dogs are welcome. The Stalls also has RF induction loop access for those who are deaf and/or hard of hearing. Find more information on access.
Will I be able to park my pram somewhere safe?
Yes. The theatre has a cloakroom and pram store situated on the lower ground floor mezzanine. The cloakroom is free with a suggested donation of £1.
Am I guaranteed entrance?
Yes, if you have a ticket.
Are any of the tickets restricted view and if so are these offered at a reduced rate?
Some seats may have a partial restriction these will be clearly flagged at the time of booking, all tickets will be the same price
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets will not be exchanged nor money refunded unless the performance is cancelled or postponed.
Will there be a complete list of cinema locations showing the film from the 30th Nov?

Will audiences still be able to watch the CBeebies Christmas Show on the BBC?
Yes, it will be available on CBeebies Channel and on BBC iPlayer from Saturday December 7 for a minimum of 30 days.
What is the additional cinema content? What will be the cost of tickets?
