Capital Theatres & LGBT Youth Scotland
We’re really pleased to be working in partnership with LGBT Youth Scotland this autumn. We kick off with a practical workshop in partnership with the Edinburgh International Festival and Unicorn Theatre exploring the themes of “The End of Eddy”, plus a limited number of free tickets to see the show. For more information or to book place, contact Jane Griffin on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Celebrating the Scottish Year of Young People 2018, we’re hosting the IGLYO conference in The Studio in October. IGLYO is the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) youth and student organisation. It’s the largest LGBTQI youth and student network in the world, with over 95 members from over 40 countries. In the countdown to the conference, we’re collaborating with professional artists and transgender young people in Scotland, working with drama and film to explore the Gender Recognition Act. We’ll premiere the resulting film at the conference.
Capital Theatres’ venues show some of the most exciting drama, music theatre and dance in the UK and from across the globe. There are often opportunities to work alongside artists from those companies and to explore the productions they bring through our learning & participation programme. This autumn, for example, you can get up close to some of the best of UK dance through open rehearsals and dance workshops with Richard Alston Dance Company, plus dance workshops with Rambert linked to their spectacular new show Life is a Dream. Go to “What’s on” and select the “Workshops” filter to find out more.
