Based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind, Spring Awakenings original Broadway production took home eight
Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. Duncan Sheik’s rock score ranges from uplifting to haunting, with songs such as Mama Who Bore Me.
This coming of age story deals with depression, desire and the constraints and pressures placed on teenagers by society.
