Freedom of Information
Capital Theatre and the Act
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“the Act”) enables any person to obtain information from Scottish public authorities.
This legal right of access includes all types of ‘recorded’ information held by Scottish public authorities. From 1st January 2005 any person who makes a request for information must be provided with it, subject to certain conditions. Capital Theatrest became a designated public authority and subject to the Act in April 2014.
The Act also places an obligation on all Scottish public authorities to adopt and maintain a 'Publication Scheme'.
Our Scheme is available to view here. To view this document you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. This Reader can be downloaded for free from the Adobe web site.

Capital Theatres has adopted the Scottish Information Commissioner’s Single Model Publication Scheme.

In adopting the Single Model Publication Scheme, Capital Theatres has produced a Guide to Information which will:
Allow you to see what is available (and what is not available) in relation to each class of information
State what charges may be applied
Explain how to find the information easily
Provide contact details for enquiries and to get help with accessing the information
Explain how to request information which has not been published
Alternatively you can contact us on 0131 662 1112 to ask for a copy of the document to be posted to you.
Making a Request
If you are unable to find the information you require, Capital Theatres will assist you in making a Freedom of Information request.
If the information you request has already been made available to the public in other ways, we will normally refer you back to that source.
